The brief called for an elegant and creative display that represented both brands while reflecting Fortnum & Mason’s heritage, colours and connection with afternoon tea.
Designing Cupcakes for Two Distinctive Brands
The collection combined Fortnum & Mason’s recognisable eau-de-nil green, chocolate brown, ivory and gold with Adyen’s contemporary green branding.
Edible printed logos represented both companies, while the decorative elements included miniature biscuits, golden roses and Fortnum & Mason-inspired coins. Together, these details created a coordinated collection in which every cupcake looked distinctive while remaining part of the same celebration.
The combination of traditional afternoon-tea imagery and modern corporate branding was designed to reflect the relationship between these two very different but complementary businesses.
Bringing the Fortnum & Mason Experience to Life
To add height and variety to the display, we also created special feature cupcakes decorated with edible teacups, saucers and teapots.
These handcrafted details were inspired by Fortnum & Mason’s famous association with tea and hospitality. The teacup and teapot designs gave the collection a more personal, three-dimensional finish and transformed the cupcakes into miniature edible centrepieces.
